What are the 3 types of shed categories
We have 3 categories of wooden garden shed kits:
1. Cedar Sheds
2. Garden
Sheds
3. Shed
Kits
Each category represents a different and unique
shed manufacturer's product catalog. All the sheds in each category share certain
features that separate them from the other shed categories.
Cedar Sheds
are made by Cedarshed Industries, and have the following considerations:
-
clear rough beveled old growth cedar siding. Average thickness is about 1/2".
- SPF (spruce, pine, fir) interior wall studs.
- mid grade shed roof
shingles
- very simple to assemble with large prefab panels and few loose
pieces
Garden
Sheds are made by Outdoor Living Today, and are very similar to Cedar Sheds.
The difference is the following:
- tight knot, tongue and groove type
cedar shed siding
- veneered plywood between the stud and siding
- all cedar shed materials
including interior studs
- high grade shed roof shingles
- mostly easy to
assemble with similar large prefab panels, but more loose pieces
Shed Kits are
traditional shed kits with lots of loose pieces and longer assembly time:
-
much stronger finished product
- heavy duty shed materials
- shake shingle
siding and roofing
- some cutting and carpentry skills suggested
